Traveling and settling down
It was very interesting for me to learn about your travel destinations. I admit I've never been to any of the East European countries or former USSR states myself. I've been living in Sweden and France for about one year, and traveled to China, Canada and North Africa. For many years I lived on an island south east of Sweden called Bornholm; we lived in the country and raised a few animals, like goats, chicken and pigs. We also worked in a cooperative shop project, selling food, clothes and shoes, and a book café where you could read and buy books. This was back in the "alternative" seventies, when the experimental Free state of Christiania was also developed. My older brother was among those pioneer squatters who invaded the empty military area with lots of barracks, and started to settle down there. Today this is both a live example of a different way of living, and an alternative tourist attraction. But I never lived there myself. Inconesida, where did you learn about Christiania?
Today, I live not far from the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, 20 km up north in a town called Farum, near lake and forest. And this is not far from where I was born and raised, either. (Am I really that conservative?:-) Oh, and you ask for my occupation? Well, I work as a free agent teacher, helping to develop online learning, mostly with language teachers. I also work as an external examinator for Danish colleges of social education, that is, I read lots and lots of bachelor group projects, and then participate in each individual oral exam. And yes, I'm no teenager. I'm actually a grandmother, with three preschool grandchildren that I enjoy playing with as often as possible! But I'm also a lifelong student of education (with a special interest for online communication and multimedia).

The main hitch to traveling in our country is the shotage of money. Most of our studets go to USA just to earn $. What impressions do you have from the China journey?
"Denmark, the most southern Scandinavian country, includes over 400 individual islands, most connected by bridges, and linked by an efficient ferry system.
The Jutland Peninsula and the entire country is mostly low, flat land, averaging only 100 ft. (300m) above sea level.
Denmark is known worldwide for its dairy, livestock and commercial fishing industries, and for trend-setting wind-turbine electricity generators.
Tourism thrives in Denmark, especially in Copenhagen, a stylish city of museums, nitelife and fabulous shopping. Legoland Park and Tivoli are magnets for children of all ages."

You raised serious problems concerning the poverty, migration, ecology, increasing consummation. . We live in the epoch of globalisation and integration; states around the world try to cooperate with each other. .However this process, to my mind, trends to be one-sided: wealthy countries care of their further proliferation making “friends” with each other, and poor states trying to create their own alliances in order to protect themselves from power and influence of the rich. This, I think, leads to misunderstanding and conflicts. We will live peacefully hand in hand only if we start to study cultural, religious, historical particularities of each other, if we start to evaluate somebody’s conduct from not only political and economic positions but accounting that we are all human beings with common needs and interests. May be it is an ideal picture but the feeling of such unit and harmony among people exists, especially during global catastrophes or tragedies. Hence, we can help to each other to find common language and peacefully coexist in our world.

Today is a birthday of Andersen, an outstanding fairy-tales writer. Denmark is his motherland. I like him very much. By the way, being a grandmother you might read and tell many fairy-tales to your grandchildren. It was fascinating to get to know about your journeys. I totally agree with you that during when we travel we learn about global history, politics and culture, as well as our families and ourselves. Is it a difficult to be a teacher? Do you enjoy your job?

Hello. The geography of the places that you have visited is very interesting, you have been to Europe and Asia, North America and Africa ( three continents... well Australia, South America and Antarctika are still left). Would you like to visit more countries in your life. Of course I will strongly recomend you to pay a visit in our region, we have many interesting places which worth seing. But I also believe that tourism in our country is being developed and as a foreign visitor, you may meet some difficulties or inconviniences. But be sure, belarusian nature, and fresh air of belarussian forest will compensate you these hardships.
I also want to ask you’ve been to different countries and got aquainted with their cultures, what did you find the most interesting. Maybe you like to cook or simply eat some unusual dishes and what musik did you like the best.
Thank you, bye.
Hi Mystery Grandma ! How ae you ?
Sorry for not answering your question for so long. Honestly,at first , I was really suprised to find out about Christiania , I traditionaly associated Denmark with Andersen ,beautiful castles ,green roofs of the houses, museums etc. Unfortunatly , visiting Denmark wasn't my own experience , I learned some information from my friend , who is trying to enter CBS.
How do you characterize danish people , what values do they have , are you joint people ?
Bye , bye .
Hello Mistery Grandma!
I was surprised to know, that you are not a teenager, but a grandmother. Your stories about Denmark, travelling were so interisting that I'm really thinking of going to Denmark. I consider Danish people to be very hospitable. Do you have any special traditions about host people?
Thank you, bye.
Hello. I only can say WOW!!! Im really surprised you are a grandma. You see its not typicle for our country to be a grandma with such occupation. You are great!
Dear Mystery Guest,
I regret extremely that you've never been to Belarus. I am sure you would love it. As a matter of fact, Eastern Europe varies greatly but Western Europeans used to apprehand us as a whole and in deep assosiation with Russia. But Belarus differs greatly from that Asian empire to the East of its borders. Moreover, I think Belarus has a lot in common mere with Denmark. Denmark (if we minus Grenland somehow:) is the smallest country in Scandinvia with a nice countryside, blue lakes and kind people like Hans Christian Andersen (actually I've never been to Denmark:), though I am sure). By the way, how did you find that anniversary of famous Danish writer? I did read all the fairy-tales of him in our libary in childhood and was astonished later that he regarded himself as an adult writer. Have you ever read Belarusian writers?
Thanks a lot for joining our project and contributing it with nice messages of yours.

How are you, Mystery Guest? To be honest I was very impressed by the wide geografy of countries you have been to! You are a very lucky person! But you have never been to our country! I can say that you have lost a lot!!! Have you ever heard that Belarus is called a 'blue-eyed' country. That is because of hundreds of amazingly beautiful lakes and thousands of rivers through the whole country!!! Some part of the territory of Belarus suffered greatly after Chernobyl disaster. But there are slill a lot of very very marvelous sights. So, you are WELCOM to our country, the country beneath white wings!!!
